The Meteorological Department of Thailand issued a warning to multiple southern provinces on Monday morning (October 30) that heavy rains are expected for the entire week.

The heavy rains are a result of a high-pressure mass originating in China combining with a monsoon currently over the Gulf of Thailand.

Met Department warns southern provinces to brace for heavy rains

A warning was issued yesterday but an additional warning was issued today after the forecast was updated.

People in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat and Yala are being told to expect heavy rainfall from Monday to Thursday.

From Thursday the rains are expected to affect people in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung and several other southern provinces until Saturday evening.
