People all over Bangkok stopped and looked to the skies yesterday morning as pilots from the Royal Thai Airforce took to the skies to rehearse for this Saturday’s air show being performed as part of the kingdoms National Children’s Day celebrations taking place at Wing 6 in Don Muang.
Those lucky enough to be in the area between 8.15am and 9.05am would have been able to catch a glimpse of the F-16 Fighting Falcon show, AU-23 Peacemaker show and the Eurocopter EC725 all rehearsing their performances for this weekend’s show.
In the afternoon it was the turn of the JAS 29 Gripen fighters who took to the skies to practice their moves from 2.30pm to 2.50pm.
Whilst the pilots took to the skies personnel on the ground were also rehearsing marching and martial arts performances which will also take place this weekend at the show which takes places between 8am and 3pm.
Thailand hold its annual National Children’s Day celebration on the second Saturday in January each year in an effort to raise awareness that children are the future of the country and to provide children with fun activities.
During the celebration government offices including Parliament house are open to the children and their families to tour, military bases also allow children to watch parades and inspect the inside of military vehicles.
Will you be going to one of the many Children’s Day events taking place across the kingdom tomorrow?
