With Songkran fast approaching and the expected carnage on Thailand’s roads expected to increase as always during the celebrations, the authorities have taken steps to reduce the deaths on the roads.
They have announced that the military will play a role in conjunction with the National Road Safety Facilitation Committee in an attempt to reduce deaths and casualties during Songkran.
The military will work closely with the committee to ensure road safety is at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
Traffic laws will be enforced with an awareness campaign being promoted in the lead up to the festivities, which runs from April 11 through to the 17th.
Let us hope that people take on board the information given out by the authorities and that they tackle the drink driving problems in Thailand. That alone would reduce the deaths and injuries substantially.
Stay safe is the message Love Pattaya wish to portray. Enjoy the fun and the parties but be sensible and leave the transport to the taxi drivers of the city.
