Thailand’s Ministry of public health is getting behind traditional medicine by increasing efforts to make the alternatives to modern medicines more accessible across the kingdom.
The project called the “Thai First action plan” is being spearheaded by the Minister of Public Health Dr Piyasakol Sakolsathayadhorn who has given out guidelines for systematically making traditional Thai herbal medications, asking for the Ministry of Industry and Science to encourage their use in place of modern pharmaceutical remedies.
Currently the ministry plans to promote the use of Thai traditional remedies and improve people’s access to such medicines all across the kingdom.
