The Thai cabinet announced that the mourning period for HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been extended by 15 days until October 27 2017.
The beloved late monarch passed away aged 89 on October 13, 2016, after ruling for seven decades.
Originally the Thai government announced a one-year mourning period, however that has now been extended to October 27 to coincided with the cremation ceremonies scheduled to take place from October 25 to 29 with the actual cremation of his late majesty taking place on October 26.
A government spokesman announced yesterday that flags will be flown at half-mast for the duration of the extended mourning period at all government agencies.
