Thailand authorities have removed all legal obstacles to permit the Chinese to build the planned railway between the two nations.
China will now assume complete power over the completion of the high speed rail project.
Ten laws, which prevented the construction of the line between Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, have been removed, so that the construction work can go ahead.
The Chinese will be responsible for the design, construction and training of staff throughout the project.
However, the Engineering Institute of Thailand have raised concerns with regards to public safety if Chinese engineers were not qualified and met Thai standards.
They suggested their counterparts from China may not be familiar with Thailand’s soil, winds and earthquakes.
On the flip side, they ask that the Chinese should transfer knowledge and technical experience to Thai workers.
The institute want all documentation to be translated from Chinese to Thai, so that future repairs can be carried out.
The government are eager to to see the project completed for it will have huge financial benefits for trade and tourism, once the rail link is opened for business.
Some of the downsides to the order are the Chinese workers will be exempt from prosecution of any misconduct and that no other nation or businesses can tender bids, meaning costs could rocket.
