An announcement has been made by Thai Airways that they plan to increase the number of flights on their Bangkok to Auckland route
Starting in November this year Thai Airways will start running daily flights from Bangkok to Auckland and will also be introducing a new Boeing Dreamliner for the route.
Currently Thai Airways operates flights five days a week.
Auckland Airport general manager Scott Trasker said the announcement is great news for New Zealand as it will add an additional 65,000 seats to the route annually and inject an estimated $53 million into New Zealand’s economy.
He said the additional flights will also increase travel options from those traveling from Europe, India and South East Asia who use Bangkok as a connection point.
Thai airways increased the number of seats on this route by 30,000 back in March 2016 and the popular route seems to be growing fast after the announcement of a further 65,000 seats later this year.
Where Thai Airways will celebrate 30 years of flights to Auckland in December.
