It has been reported that two people were injured yesterday morning (December 18).
When a gunshot was accidentally fired by a police officer inside a Siam Commercial Bank in Ban Chang in the Rayong province according to an announcement made by the police.
A statement was released by Jakrin Thuasupap of the Ban Chang police who explained the officer stationed inside the bank to provide security, Pol Sud-lt Nikom Pan-iam went to use the bathroom and took off his belt which had his 9mm Glock pistol in a holster attached.
The pistol fell to the table and accidentally fired the bullet penetrated the toilet wall and hit Ms Chanetthip Phusuwan, a bank staff member in the shoulder, the bullet went all the way through and hit Nares Nuansri, a bank customer in the stomach.
Both Ms Chanetthip and Nares were quickly rushed to the Ban Chang Hospital where doctors later announced they were both out of danger.
Police are currently questioning the officer involved but as yet no charges have been issued.
