On March the 15th, 2017, a man was killed whilst travelling at speed along Phuket’s busy bypass.
The men from Myanmar were riding a motorbike when they struck a cow, resulting in one of them being pronounced dead at 00:15, approximately 90 minutes after the accident.
Both men were taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital where the driver died as a result of his injuries.
Lt Ranaphum Permphoon of the Phuket City Police explained that the pillion passenger has injuries to both his legs and chest but suffered no broken bones.
Neither of the men have been identified as they were not carrying any form of identification. At present the survivor has been unable to communicate with police due to language barriers and the victims condition.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
