There has been yet another injury as a result of parasailing at Patong Beach in Phuket yesterday (September 26).
After a Chilean man in his late 20’s was dragged along the ground hitting several parked cars and motorbikes before his parasail ended up in trees.
Paramedics were quickly at the scene to attend to the man who was then taken to Patong hospital where he is being treated for minor lacerations, bruising and grazes from being dragged along the ground.
This is the third time a tourist has been injured or lost their life in a matter of months.
In July, Australian tourist Roger Hussey, 71, lost his life after falling from a parasail into shallow water and on September 13 a 62-year-old Chinese tourist was also injured on a parasail ride at Patong Beach.
The Phuket governor called for better safety regulations after the death of Mr Hussey but accidents appear to still be happening.
At the time of yesterday’s accident there were reported wind speeds of 25kph.
