Tourism officials have announced plans to give public bathrooms across the island of Phuket a bit of sprucing up in an effort to improve tourist’s experiences while holidaying on the island.
The announcement came yesterday at a meeting held by the Department of Tourism and Sports chaired by Wanthana Jangprajack at the Royal Phuket City Hotel.
She said that the main issue was “confidence.”
She elaborated that providing tourists with a fundamental standard will make sure tourists are confident traveling around the kingdom.
She said there are not enough public toilets at many tourist spots, and many that are in place do not meet international safety and hygiene standards.
A review into the toilets standards is to be carried out in order to match current expectations and international standards.
