Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has approved five billion baht from the central budget to help solve the crisis of state hospitals running at a loss as reported by Love Pattaya recently.

Public Health Minister Dr Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn said In the long term, it was necessary to reform the overall health system, including the health insurance system to ensure state hospitals have the ability to sustain their operating costs.
He also revealed that five hospitals have a level four critical cash flow concern, which could be resolved by working in a more efficient manner.
