Five police officers, including a superintendent and an inspector have been transferred to inactive posts in Lat Phrao, Bangkok.
The decision was taken following a raid on an illegal casino in the Lat Phrao area on Tuesday evening, which saw over 100 people being arrested including at least 12 foreigners.
Pol Maj-Gen Nanthachart Supamongkol ordered the transfer of the five officers stating they were negligent in their duties for permitting the illegal gambling den to exist within their domain.
Police had received numerous complaints about the gambling den but did not act so local residents took their grievances to the army, who carried out the raid.
