A Polish national has been arrested on suspicion of being the perpetrator of a Bangkok Bank ATM robbery where the thief made off with 300,000 baht in the early hours of September 13.
In a joint effort Metropolitan Police Area 4 investigators teamed up with Prawet police to arrest a 38-year-old suspect whose name was not made public.
The arrest came after officer went to Soi Ramkhamhaeng 50 after investigating officers used CCTV to determine the suspect.
The suspect reportedly went to Cambodia two days after the ATM robbery and returned to Bangkok just a couple of days before the arrest was made.
Police have applied for an arrest warrant and have taken into evidence a motorbike believed to have been used during the course of the crime which will be examined by forensic officers to collect fingerprint and DNA evidence.
A press conference is scheduled for later today (September 27) where National police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda will provide further details on the investigation.
