An operation made up of both soldiers and police officers raided an underground gambling hall in Pathum Thani’s Lam Lukka district last night (February 8) arresting 118 people found side gambling.
Officers said that the illegal gambling hall was disguised as a snooker club called Fenix Snooker, in Tambon Bueng Khamprom.
The raiding party reportedly smashed down the door and stormed the venue apprehending 60 men and 58 women found inside, taken away as evidence the raiding party seized 195,406 baht in cash, 17,580 baht’s worth of coins from slot machines and almost 10,000 baht’s worth of casino chips.
Police said they are yet to apprehend those running the illegal gambling den after staff fled through a hidden door at the back of the property.
All those arrested for gambling were taken to the Lam Lukka police station where they will now face punishment.
The investigation is still ongoing and officers are currently searching for those responsible for running the illegal enterprise.
