From today citizens across the kingdom will be able to exchange old bank notes for new commemorative notes honouring his Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Who passed away on October 13, 2016, aged 88.

Members of the public will be able to exchange old notes for new ones at banks across Thailand and they will also be dispensed from ATM machines.

Royal commemorative banknotes enter circulation from today

Different value notes have different depictions of the late king at various stages of his rule.

20 baht notes depict the early life of his late Majesty.

50 baht notes depict his late Majesty at royal ceremonies early on in his reign.

100 baht notes show King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s kindness to those in rural areas of the country.

500 baht notes show the late king’s wisdom and talents reflected in royal projects.

1,000 baht notes show the late reign of the beloved king.

The Bank of Thailand said they have printed enough notes to keep them in general circulation.
