The fight to save thirteen lives continues!
Since June 23, an entire soccer team of thirteen minor boys aged 11-16 and their 25-year-old soccer coach have been trapped inside the Tham Luang cave complex in northern Thailand.
This rescue mission is the country’s biggest rescue operation with support from many other countries.
And rightly stated ‘race against time’, the divers are fighting fiercely to save these lives that do not seem to have much in hand.
The muddy water and rising levels of water on several occasions have stopped those divers from diving further. Two Australian divers reported that they had to surface up after spending three hours to get to Chamber 2 due to falling oxygen levels in their cylinders.
Two Japanese irrigation experts sent by Jica suggested using the water jet to drain out the mud first which will help speed up the water to drain out of the cave.
Divers from several countries have joint hands with the SEAL divers in the rescue mission. As of now, 17 rescuers from Peace Land Foundation and other foundations have joined the team. Also cave divers from Britain have joined in.
The spokesperson of the US team from USOACOM, Jessica Tate stated to the Thai PBS that, the US team has been working continuously along with the Thai divers in search of alternative routes to help save the lives trapped.
300 oxygen cylinders from the Navy Seal team have reached at Tham Luang cave on Sunday to proceed with the rescue mission.
These equipments were flown by an Air Force C130 transport plane to Mae Fah Luang airport to transport it to Tham Luang cave. 117 regulators, 2,000 chemical light sticks, 101 backpacks, 25 diving vests, 10 lead belts, four air compressors and other requirements are present with the drivers apart from the 300 oxygen cylinders.
