The Meteorological Department of Thailand has yet again issued a warning for heavy storms and expected increased rainfall until the weekend, i.e. May 9- 13.
Weather report shows a high-pressure through from China, extending across the upper regions of Thailand. Southeasterly winds continue building more humidity over the South China Sea and in the Gulf of Thailand. Though rain is expected to decrease by May 14-15 but the northern regions will expectedly remain wet due to westerly winds.
In the recent storm that hit the nation a few days ago, has devastated a lot of the regions. Nakhon Si Thammarat province, with three villages in Sao Thong sub-district of Ron Phibun district was struck by a tornado. In Tha Bo district of Nong Khai province, rough winds have blown away roofs of most houses. Bueng Kan and in the sub-districts of So Phisai heavy rains have caused damage.
Soldiers and officials from many agencies have been deployed to help people and clear off uprooted trees and electric poles.
