There was panic in the ancient capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya, as shots were fired resulting in at least four people being treated in hospital, although the number could be as high as eight.
Soldiers moved into two areas, where revellers were enjoying water activities, following the incident.
A group of men in a pick-up began shooting at others who arrived on motorbikes sparking chaos and fear amongst the party goers.
According to reports, the shooting commenced because of biker’s revving their engines upon arrival at the King Naresuan monument. The second incident happened at the Ayutthaya City Park Shopping Centre.
Investigations have begun but police believe the two incidents are connected.
