In what is set to be the first of its kind in Thailand a “Smart zebra crossing” is about to be installed in Hua Hin.
However concerns are already surfacing online as to whether or not motorists will still take any notice of the crossing.
A local Journalist took to Facebook to talk about the new high tech crossing that according to Kulsawek Sawekwannakorn will be equipped with road level lights that shine in both directions making the crossing rather hard to miss.
The lights are provided by “solar cells” which will charge up during the day and shine brightly all night.
Construction is expected to take about four days and the first of its kind will be located outside of the Chatchai market, if it is successful it will then be rolled out across the kingdoms busy roads.
Concerns have been raised online that motorists should already stop at existing zebra crossings but many simply ignore them and people fear that they will simply do so at the new “smart zebra crossing.”
