It was not only the nation’s capital that was badly affected by flooding this morning after reports that soldiers and police were dispatched in Samut Prakan to help stranded motorists after many vehicles broke down in flood waters.
Pol Lt-Colonel Sathit Samarnparp from the North Samrong Police force dispatched officers to direct traffic as heavily flooded roads were causing widespread traffic delays.
Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion from the Second Infantry Division were also dispatched to help remove broken down vehicles in an effort to improve traffic flow.
Traffic police in the area reported that the main intersection in Samut Prakan was under 30 centimetres of water where many smaller vehicles had broken down due to the flood waters.
Motorists were spotted on Sri Nakharin road helping each other to push broken down vehicles out of the flood water.
