Here is something unusual for you.
Following predictions that the sunrise could be seen through all fifteen doors of a Buriram ruin, tourists and locals gathered to witness the phenomenon in their droves.
The Phanom Rung in Buriram was the setting of the amazing sunrise and as predicted by astronomers, it was indeed spectacular.
Visitors thought to exceed one thousand turned out to take some memorable pictures of the event.
Mind you, with a short seven minute window to capture the moment and having to be there at 06:00, those present must have been dedicated to say the least.
The Phanom Rung is a Khmer temple complex set on the rim of an extinct volcano in Buriram province. It was constructed between the 10th and 13th centuries. It underwent 17 years of restoration commencing in 1971.
