Yesterday was International Women’s Day and as a result The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) reaffirmed their commitment to increase the promotion of businesses and business practices that provide women with greater equality and leadership roles within listed companies.
A special ceremony was held yesterday afternoon where the SET president Kesara Manchusree accompanied by business leaders rang the opening bell to signal the beginning of the afternoons trading as part of an international campaign called “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality 2018.”
Kesara said that the Stock Exchange of Thailand has been actively campaigning for listed companies to add more women to their boards of directors and top management roles, by doing so businesses would benefit and grow.
