Two elephant tusks stolen from a Karen village in the Umphang District of Tak are to be returned.
Officers from the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army, have informed the Thai authorities of the discovery of the ancient tusks in a temple in Myanmar.
The sacred items are over two hundred years old and believed to have been stolen by Baisu Khiridujjinda, a former village headsman.
The thief will not be part of the handover it is claimed.
