Teacher Accuses Retired Cop Of Stealing Winning Lottery Ticket

It is not often you win a fortune on the lottery. It is usually a once in a life time experience, if it ever happens at all.

But a teacher in Kanchanburi, a province east of Bangkok, claims that although he won a staggering 30 million baht, a retired police officer stole his ticket and has filed a complaint against the accused, in a bid to retrieve his winning.

The teacher Preecha Kraikruan, claims that the former officer Charoon Wimoon, either stole his ticket or picked it up when he dropped it, possibly in a local market.

Police did not take the case on, so he has decided to seek justice himself by asking the courts for assistance. The initial hearing will take place on June 4th.

Charoon has cashed the winning ticket, spending around 5 million baht so far. However the remainder of the money has been frozen, following the complaint.
