With the royal funeral for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej set to take place from October 25 to October 29 following a year’s mourning period.
Many business owners and members of the public are still unsure what to expect during this time.
There has been no government guidelines announced as yet over business closures or the sale of alcohol during this period leaving many unsure what to do.
If it is anything like when the beloved King died last October there may be a voluntary closure of business and ban on alcohol for at least part of the five days funeral.
Tesco Lotus one of Thailand’s biggest supermarket chains has announced that all of their stores will close at 2pm on October 26 to allow there 63,000 staff members to pay their respects to the late king.
The stores decision to close will more than likely result in other businesses following suit.
