Thai airports have no plans to implement new security restrictions on large electronic devices being carried on board planes in hand luggage.
Recently the USA and UK banned passengers from carrying devices such as laptops if travelling from certain countries that have a majority Muslim population. The UK have implemented the new rule to eight countries with the US extending the ban to ten nations.
Countries affected by the British ban are Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Turkey and Saudi Arabia but more could follow.
Passengers can still travel with laptops or notebooks but they must be packed within their checked in luggage.
Thailand at present, will not ban such devices in the cabin area, which seems to be a sensible approach.
It is not uncommon for items to go missing from baggage at certain airports around the world. Would you put your laptop or MacBook in your suitcase?
