Officers here in Thailand arrested a woman yesterday in connection to the 2015 bombing at a Bangkok shrine which killed 20 people of which 14 were foreign tourists.
No group has still claimed responsibility for the bombing which killed 20 and injured 120 after a device was detonated at a central Bangkok shrine popular with Chinese and Asian tourists.
The deputy national police Chief Srivara Ransibrahmankul said that 29-year- old Wanna Suansan was arrested at a Bangkok airport, he did not comment on where she had arrived from.
The suspect is facing multiple charges including premeditated murder as well as co-possession of explosives and weapons noting that she is one of 17 people wanted in connection to the 2015 blast.
Currently two Muslim men from China are accused of perpetrating the bombing and are awaiting trial here in Thailand, both men have denied any involvement.
Investigators have claimed that Wanna rented a room to one of the two suspects and fled the country soon after the attack.
A relative of Wanna has spoken to reporters from the national police headquarters stating that Wanna returned to Thailand to prove her innocence.
