The case of the now infamous dowry scammer is heating up as it is believed that runaway bride Jariyaporn Buayai, 32, scammed approximately 2-3 million baht from at least 12 victims.

Who she convinced to marry her before fleeing with the dowry money.


Celebrity Lawyer Songkran Achariyasap has now taken the case representing the victims after one victim took to Facebook to warn the public of Jariyaporn also known by her nicknames “Nammon” and “porn” con.

Investigations have brought to light that the runaway bride has been pulling the same marriage con all over Thailand since 2011, holding weddings in Udon Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Pathum Thani to name just a few locations.

Her Parents attended each of her weddings leading authorities to believe that they are complicit with their daughter’s crimes.

The story of events was always similar according to Songkran who outlined how the relationships went prior to Jariyaporn fleeing with the victim’s money.

He said that Jariyaporn would contact her victims on Facebook using its messenger to talk at first before arranging a date in person; she would then ask the men to invest in her family’s fruit business and marry her. After a few days of being married she would tell the victim she needed to go deal the fruit business and would never be seen from again.

One of the victims who came forward identified as Pirat Puengsuk, 28, said that Jariyaporn made off with a dowry of 180,000 baht and his pick-up truck which in all the deceit cost him 1.2 million baht.

Another victim who has come forward Wiphol Posuwan said that Jariyaporn told him she was pregnant with their child and produced an ultrasound to prove it, he transferred 520,000 baht into her bank account for a dowry, shortly after she told him she had lost the baby and disappeared.

Songkran has filed charges against both Jariyaporn and her parents who could all now face five years in prison and a 100,000 baht fine.

As part of the ongoing investigation officers visited Jariyaporn’s parent’s home in the Wang Sapung district but they had also fled.

Officers did find the runaway brides older sister however, but she claims to have nothing to do with her sister after falling out over a loan she gave her of 10,000 baht.

Her sister has urged Jariyaporn to turn herself in adding that she is very worried about her mother and father.
