Ministers in Thailand are weighing up options and considering a plan to build the countries own satellites for research and exploration.
A meeting was held yesterday led by Minister of Science and Technology, Suvit Maesincee with all related ministerial officials in attendance to discuss the issue.
Minister Suvit spoke of the government’s initiative to inspire the children of the kingdom to become more interested in science, technology and engineering and said that the satellite project would be crucial in inspiring the nations youth.
Currently officials are considering building two satellites both weighing no more than 100-kilogrammes.
The estimated costs for both satellites is expected to be in the region of 800 million baht.
