Thailand is about to become greener.
With air pollution and global warming being a worldwide issue, Thailand have decided to act by introducing woodlands into urban areas, with the view of absorbing air pollution.
The twenty year plan will also encompass greener offices.
Thailand at present lags behind neighbouring countries for green areas so the new plans are most welcome.
As expected, Bangkok suffers worst for contamination of its air and will be targeted for improvements on air quality.
The Department of Environmental Quality Promotion has asked that everyone joins in with the green plans. Everyone can do their bit to improve on air quality, from householders to large organisations, who can plant trees around their grounds.
The overall goal is to increase woodland areas by forty percent over the next twenty years.
