Its Chinese New Year next month which means only one thing for Thailand an influx of tourists arriving here in the kingdom.
The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) has estimated that over 400,000 Chinese tourists will be arriving over that period.
That’s right city’s across the kingdom look set to be busy than usual next month where it is estimated that the Chinese tourists will spend somewhere in the region of 20 billion baht whilst vacationing here.
Chinese New Year falls on February 16 however public holidays in China last for a total of 7 days with the large number of public holidays Thailand has it’s a good job they don’t do the same.
The estimated 400,000 Chinese tourists is said to be an increase of 10 percent compared to arrivals during the same period last year.
It was reported that over the course of 2017 a total of 9.8 million Chinese tourists visited the kingdom and in doing so generated 480 billion baht for the Thai economy.
It is estimated that over the course of 2018 a total of 10.8-11 million Chinese tourists will visit Thailand making the Chinese the largest group of international travellers to visit the kingdom.
