133 historical artefacts could be on their way back to Thailand after being displayed in museums and other educational institutions from around the globe.
Following the return of two historical objects from America a committee was set up on June 13, with the goal of reclaiming Thailand’s historical artifacts from foreign nations.
The committee is also confident that two ancient lintels originating from Khao Lon and Prasat Nong Hong will also be coming back to Thailand. Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said “we have clear evidence that the lintels belong to us.”
It is estimated that there are 20 items belonging to Thailand on display in San Francisco, USA.
Now that a committee has been set up dedicated to the retrieval of such objects, hopefully more and more items will be returning back to the country in the near future.
