Thailand gets third spot on world tourism revenue list

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) has released statistics placing Thailand in third spot on a list of countries earning the most tourism revenue for 2016-2017 period.

Since the start of 2016 Thailand has amassed 1.65 trillion baht ($49.9 billion) from tourism revenue which is a 16.9 percent increase.

Thailand also came in 9th spot in the statistics for number of tourist arrivals with 32.6 million travellers.

The top spot on the list for tourist revenue was taken by the USA who amassed $205.9 billion during the same period with Spain taking the second spot earning $60.3 billion.
