Improving situations around the world is strengthening Thai tourism and The Ministry of Tourism and Sports believes that the second half of 2018 will further boost tourism in the country.
Pongpanu Svetarundra, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports stated that tourism in Thailand increased after the Prime Minister visited France from 20-26 June and from his earlier trips to India, Japan, China, Russia, and the U.S, helping him secure confidence in tourism for his nation. He also believes that the EU’s resolutions to fix its political tie-ups with Thailand and deploying more border checkpoints in and out of the nation will provide security to Thailand’s tourism, which in turn will boost the confidence of the tourists.
Though the global economy is facing extensive competition, Thailand is well-balanced with its policies and acceptance at the international forums, said Pongpanu Svetarundra.
Thailand’s tourism ministry is aiming to promote tourism in 55 minor Thai cities to bring tourists and revenue to the local markets. According to the ministry’s data, Thailand is expected to grow at a similar rate as that of the previous year, reported Pongpanu Svetarundra.
