Tigers – possible the most beautiful animal on our amazing planet are in decline, with many species on the verge of extinction, through hunting or loss of habitat.
But every now and then, there is a little hope for these magnificent cats!
A surveillance camera in the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai world heritage site, has so far managed to capture eighteen tigers, including SEVEN cubs.
Dr Songtham Sooksawang, director of National Parks Office, told a press conference on Tuesday that recorded sightings of the tigers were a testimony of the pristine and rich condition of natural resources and ecological system of the Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai world heritage site and the effectiveness of forest patrolling by forest rangers.
The world heritage site covers an area in the Dong Phayayen Mountains and is vital to the survival of tigers.
