In a meeting held by between the government, private sector and potential ferry operators, six new routes to connect islands and ports in the Andaman area have been proposed.

The proposed routes would connect Phuket, Pangnga and Krabi with a modern fleet of new vessels which would cut down the estimated journey time.

This initiative when put in action will expand tourism in the region.

These vessels will be equipped to carry vehicles further adding to the advantage.

By June 15th, tenders will be found and as promised by August 31st decisions will be made.

The main route will connect Phuket and Krabi Airports by passenger ship and accommodate 300 people reaching the main destination in an hour.


The other routes include:
2: Ferry (cars and passengers) Ao Por, Phuket to Chong Lat, Pangnga to Tha Len, Krabi.

3: Ferry (cars and passengers) Chong Lat, Koh Yaw Yai, Ma Noh, Koh Yaw Noi, Pangnga.

4 Ferry (cars and passengers) Ban Hua Hin, Koh Klang Lanta, Ban Klong Mak (Lanta Noi) Krabi

5 Ferry (cars and passengers) Ao Thong Lang Koh Lanta, Koh Hang, Koh Poo, Pangnga.

6 Ferry (cars and passengers) port at Amphoe Kao, Koh Lanta Yai to Koh Por Krabi.

7 Ferry (passengers only) Sala Dan Koh Lanta to Ao Por Phuket.
