Thailand’s tourist figures for January to May 2017, rose by 3.2% over the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sport.
Over 14.6 million visitors generated approximately 747 billion baht of revenue in the first five months of 2017.
The majority of the visitors came from eastern Asia, with figures showing 1.9 million tourists checking into the Kingdom.
111,000 came from the Americas and 70,000 from Australasia, whilst Africa accounted for 14,000 visitors.
Disappointingly, visitors from Europe dropped by 1.89%, to just over 300,000.
The most popular nations who see Thailand as a place to holiday were China, Malaysia, India, Laos, South Korea and Japan.
However, Pattaya needs tourists from Australia, the Americas, Russia and Europe to increase, for these are the people who invest in property and fund the entertainment business in the city.
A drive to attract people from the above areas of the world, would certainly benefit cities such as Pattaya.
