Some eighty police officers from the south of the kingdom including officers from Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi are undergoing a month-long course which started on Monday to learn how to be better investigators and also how to deal with foreign tourists.
The training course is being held at the Region 8 Police HQ in Phuket and is titled “Detective Team Training in tourism zone.”
The acting commissioner of the Region 8 Provincial Police said that the training is important to develop the skills of officers to best serve tourists and foreign investors in their areas.
The course will cover investigative skills which include gathering evidence, questioning witnesses as well as firearms training and martial arts courses.
