Tourist Boost For Thailand But More Needs To Be Done

Tourism in Thailand has apparently rose by 7% over the past 12 months.

The majority of the nation’s visitors came from China, Japan, Malaysia and Russia according to the Tourism and Sports Ministry.

Almost three million foreign visitors were recorded entering the country in April alone, with around 12 million for the first quarter paying Thailand a visit.

Tourists play a huge part in the Kingdom’s economy, being responsible for 12% of the countries revenue.

However, it is unclear where the tourists visited in Thailand.

Ideally we want to see more visitor’s from Europe, America, Canada and Australia arriving. These are the people who spend money on condos, in bars and restaurants and keep the entertainment industry alive.

It is wonderful to know that so many people are travelling to Thailand but the tourist board need to target the areas mentioned above.
