Tourists visiting the Kingdom may soon have to purchase “travel insurance” before arrival.
Reports are circulating via an unconfirmed source, that the proposal have been presented to the Tourism and Sports Ministry for deliberation.
We could even see the introduction on vending machines at airports and border checkpoints, where tourist can purchase health, life and accident insurance.
Whether there is any authenticity in the story remains to be seen but it does make sense, when you read of people having to do fund raising to pay for treatment of their loved ones following an accident.
It would also ease the burden of cash strapped hospitals who are having to treat uninsured tourists.
Tell us what you think.
