A group of tourists were pictured standing on a railway line in the Mae Tha district while they themselves were busy taking pictures of the nearby Tha Chompoo Bridge on Wednesday.
The latest warning comes from a train driver who claims to have been traveling along the line without any carriages when he had to quickly slam on the brakes to prevent hitting the tourists.
The train driver who did not wish to be named posted a picture of the tourists on social media group along with a warning saying that had he of been pulling carriages there was no way he would have been able to stop in time.
The Chompoo station has become a popular tourist destination where people stop to take pictures of the Tha Chompoo Bridge also known as Saphan Khao (white bridge).
The unidentified driver said usually there are several people along the line who normally stand off to the side but even this can be dangerous as the force of a traveling train could pull people under the train.
The assistant manager of Tha Chompoo train station said he has told all train drivers to be extra cautious when approaching the station and also appealed to tourists to keep off of the tracks for their own safety.
