After recommendations from the International Civil Aviation Organisation the Thai government has issued a reminder to the public of the harsh consequences for those that do not adhere to the liquids on aircraft rules.
Representative Nittinai Sirisamatkarn said those that those that exceed the volume limit for carry-on luggage could face imprisonment and a fine of up to 40,000 baht.
The reminder has been issued following an inspection of Thai airports by the ICAO.
Earlier this week a lawyer complained that he was unable to take what he wanted onto a flight heading to Chiang Rai which gained some media attention.
Rumours have been circulating that people are selling confiscated goods at airports but those claims are unsubstantiated at this time.
