Thai Meteorological Department (MD) has made an announcement about Tropical storm “Doksuri” which is on its way to Thailand from the upper South China Sea.
And is expected to bring heavy rain when it reaches the north of the country on September 15 and 16.
The storm currently has a maximum sustained wind speed of 75 knots and is moving west at a speed of 15kph and is expected to hit land over upper Vietnam on Friday.
As a result the MD expects the north to be subjected to more torrential downpours over Friday and Saturday. They expect the storm to cause isolated heavy rain across the south and east of Thailand between the 14th and 18th of September.
The storm will result in strong winds in both the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand which will produce wave 2-3 metres in height.
In the announcement they advised all vessels to exercise extra caution and said smaller boats should stay ashore.
