The vehicle was tailed for a number of miles, before it pulled into a petrol station, where police made their presence known and searched it.

It was found to contain a number of backpacks, which in turn held plastic packages with the illicit cargo.

Tanisorm Sornkla, 48, and Yossawat Vajaratithiladaporn were arrested at the scene and taken away for further questioning.

They later admitted they were delivering the drugs to a customer in Hat Yai and would be paid 500,000 baht each for their trouble.
