3 dead in lake

The bodies of two victims of a boat accident have been recovered on Friday morning.

One person is still missing in Sakon Nakhon’s Nong Han Lake.

Six people from the same family set out on a long-tail-boat on Thursday, when it sank, some 800 metres from shore.

Three of the family managed to swim ashore but the other three were lost to the waters of the lake.

Apparently no life jackets were worn by those in the boat.

Umaporn Somboon, 20, and Teerasak Naisawang, 27, were retrieved from the lake on Friday morning.

The hunt for Manit Somboon, 26, is being carried out by specialist divers.

An investigation will be carried out to determine what caused the boat to sink.

Our thoughts are with the friends and families of the deceased.
