Two men dead and one hospitalised after eating puffer fish eggs

Despite warnings from a Thai fishing boats captain three Myanmar workers decided to eat fried puffer fish eggs resulting in two of them dying and the third having to be rushed to hospital.

The men reportedly caught a large puffer fish at 1pm yesterday afternoon while out at sea off of Nakhon Si Thammarat and were set on eating the fish’s eggs even after the ship’s captain told them not to.

He said there was a total of 5 crew on board and two of them heeded his warning not to eat the fish’s eggs.

According to Wirat Tan eat the most fired eggs and died roughly 30 minutes after eating them with Chit dying shortly after, Sugi apparently ate a smaller portion that is probably why he is still alive.
