A video posted online highlighted how just a couple of seconds can be the difference between life and death after a motorcyclist sets off on his journey then mere seconds.
Later a pick-up driven by a drunk driver decimates the spot where the motorcyclist was sitting.
CCTV footage captured the carnage which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning outside a popular restaurant called “Khao Tom” in Suphanburi at around 1am.
Speaking following the incident Kalasin Pakwiset an investigator for the Suphanburi police force said that the Isuzu pick-up had just left a pub some 200 meters down the road and was driven by Jankasem, 34, who had been drinking.
It was reported that Jankasem was found to have a blood alcohol of 146 milligrams following the accident, the legal limit in Thailand is 50 milligrams.
As can be seen from the footage the driver loses control and slams into a parked pick-up at speed before overturning and crashing through parked bikes and the spot where the motorcyclist had literally just set off from.
There was a male and female passenger on-board the pick-up who were reported to have sustained minor injuries.
Police charged Jankasem with drink driving and negligent driving and is now awaiting trial.
