Officials have put up signs in a Krabi marine park warning tourists about poisonous jellyfish that have been seen off the shore in large numbers.

Red Chrysaora jellyfish were spotted a short distance from the shoreline of Koh Hong, Koh Laoding and Koh Phakiba beaches.

The Than Boke Khoranee Marine Park Chief, Weerasak Sisatchang announced this morning that park personnel had put signs up in those locations to warn tourists about the jellyfish.

Red Chrysaora also known as sea nettles can inject venom designed to kill small animals, the venom is not fatal for human but can cause a painful rash.
