Weather And Flood Warnings Continue Nationwide Despite Deescalation Of Talas

The Meteorological Department has continued to keep flash flood warnings in place throughout most regions of the country even though Tropical Storm Talas has now been downgraded to a depression.

Current water flow is at 1,392 cubic meters per second (CMPS) but Ayuthaya province authorities have requested that the Royal Irrigation Department cap water flow at 1,500 CMPS as the fast-moving waters have already caused flooding in six districts causing widespread damage to homes and well as farm land.

The entire northern region is on alert for landslides and forest runoff.

The Department of Disaster Prevention has said that if the rainfall is more than 80 millimetres then an evacuation order will be made.

The Met Department has predicted more heavy rain across the nation particularly in the northern regions.
